I woke up this morning... (for the 3rd time... stupid me was still faffing about at about 1 am, then the dogs decided the gate banging in the wind was a burglar at about 2.30 am, and 4 am, and 6 am)....with good intentions.
Today I was going to crack on with my next assignment, after all said assignment is simply to write a letter..... ok, it has to be a technical advice letter on a legal subject that is more boring than watching paint dry and has to be no less than 1500 words (and I can just hear my tutor now sighing and e-mailing me back to remind me that this does not include what ever long addresses I choose to give the sender/recipient.... she uses my official Sunday name as well, it's quite scary...)...How hard can writing a letter be? After all I write letters, technical ones too, every day as part of my job, I write letters to friends and sometimes for friends....
So, 10 am rolls around, switch on lap top, and read the course notes..... set out letter... and manage 8 words...8!! Well that was the first 2 hours... ok, I didn't sit and blankly look at the screen... my kitchen is tidy, the bins were changed, the yard has been cleaned, swept and bleached, the scary duster was put to good use around the downstairs....
So come 1 pm I tried again... this time also hiding the kindle, smart phone and putting the answer phone on as well.... and wrote another 14 words!
Admittedly, this afternoon I wrote nearly 2000 words on something totally different, not work or course related and which I didn't have to do at all.
I have up at 5 pm as I couldn't fool myself any longer that I was actually going to do anything productive at all today!
Oh, and the assignment is due to my tutor by Wednesday *sigh* Must try harder!
I sort of missing going to school, because my home was always so clean due to the procrastination!
