So, twenty eight books got read this month, which isn't a huge number for me... there were though a lot of re-reads and it appears that I am venturing away from M/M more and more, particularly to visit favourite authors.
That said, the best books for me this month were Leather + Lace which given the number of D/s books I read I found a very nice change from the normal set up, and Slam! which I think you have to be British or have a British sense of humour to fully get all the references and jokes.... not least it helps if you know who Gok Wan is. I also really enjoyed A Note in the Margin, The Island and Touch & Geaux (though that isn't a surprise really!)
So anyway, the list...
Leather + Lace – A.B Gayle
City Mouse – Amy Lane & Aleks Voinov - this sequel just didn't quite live up the either the first book or my expectations. I would be willing to read another in the series if the authors decide to go there, but if they didn't I wouldn't be bothered either
Texas Pride – Alexander Kindle
Lords & Ladies – Terry Pratchett (r)
Carpe Jugulum – Terry Pratchett (r)
Taming the Bander – Devon Summer - this just didn't work, I am still trying to figure out why exactly but all I can actually put it down to was a good idea but not enough of a story to make it worthwhile.
The Island –Lisa Henry
Silver Bullet – Rolf & Ranger (r) - I so need the authors to finish this one now... and get Jake and Tom back off Everest!

Touch & Geaux – Abigail Roux - I thought this was much better than the previous book, it seems that the author is now getting into the swing of writing the series on her own.
The Broken Promise Land – Marcia Muller (r)
Taken in Hand – Shannon West
Slam! – J.L. Merrow
The Hot Floor – Josephine Myles (r)
Unsettled Interlude – Kaje Harper - the first of a couple of shorts in the Hidden Wolves series - Kaje really does her wolves well :)

Unexpected Demands – Kaje Harper (r)
The Long Con – Lori Toland
Sub-Culture – Sage Marlowe
Way off plan – Alexa Land
All in – Alexa Land
Pup – SJD Peterson - This was just disappointing, some major issues that were just so "book D/s" rather than remotely realistic.... and the final sens-dep scene - erm, well, no, just no, not like that.
Strawberry Rivals – Shiloh Hollis - cute little short freebie - will be interesting to see what his book due out in the summer from Dreamspinner is like
A Note in the Margin – Isabelle Rowan - This was another of those stories that I really enjoyed but didn't get the whole "angst" that everyone else who reviewed it was talking about.
Spanking Dee-Dee – Fabian Black - This author does some lovely brat fic stories, which I thought this one would be too. It wasn't it was a really nice friends to lovers story with some interesting characters.
Unwanted Appeal – Kaje Harper
Dangerous Submission – Lori Toland
Heat under fire – Andrew Grey -This series of novellas is growing on me slowly.
Wanting – Piper Vaughn (r)
Aside from that I have caught up on a long running on line story that is up to 51 chapters and still going strong.
Next month is going to be another book diet month - having looked at the Kindle and realised that I've crept up to well over 100 books on there again... oops!
There is also writing to be done..... 14 days to LHNB deadline and still no end in sight.......... or in fact not much of a story in sight as I just can't get my head round it........ this is going to so be last-minute.com!
You've had a productive reading month!
ReplyDeleteLOL about the number of books on the Kindle. :D I just keep mine out in Dropbox, easily accessible from my Android tablet and phone... and harder to count. :D
