| books gathering dust... never a good thing |
This is not something that happens to me..... sure the draw to things like knitting, baking, writing etc comes and goes, but reading, nope, don't think that's happened before. Books are the one solid thing in my life that I can always come back to whether it's to hide, escape, learn or just enjoy.
I thought it was a genre thing, I was just getting over saturated with the whole M/M genre (which in itself contains so many sub-genres I should be happy right?) ... so I switched off and tried to read other genres.......nope didn't make a difference..........I switched from the Kindle to real books......... again, no difference. I look at the to read list and the books waiting to be read (hey it was my birthday and my family haven't got the hang of Amazon voucher yet so there was real books) and have absolutely no feeling but "meh"... normally new books mean itching to get started.
I can re-read old favourites - M/M and other genres....in the last week I've been for a hike round the ranch, travelled around the Disc, I've had some action adventure moments, dabbled in crime and flitted in and out of 13th century Wales..... fine, I can do this, but anything new, nope.... my brain shuts down and goes off to do other things........ I wouldn't mind if it was doing something remotely useful but really, it's even contemplated dog grooming and housework!
I feel that my reading mojo needs to be hunted down, caught and returned to me asap..... before it gets like my work ethic and motivation and thinks it can just bugger off on it's own whenever it feels like it!

O noes!!! Here's hoping it returns soon - and at least you can read old favorites, right?!
